In the near future, the Earth's surface is so polluted that life can only thrive in hermetically sealed glass bunkers, so called Biospheres. Here the remaining humans spend the rest of their lives.
MAX is an Imagonaut in Biosphere 17 who works as a beta-tester for the Institute for the Preservation of Cultural Heritage, which uses virtual landscapes to reconstruct and preserve the eras prior to the catastrophic outbreak.
DOCTOR L., the Institute's director, is concerned about Max increasing social isolation. She fears he might lose touch with reality due to his frequent missions to virtual worlds.

The dream to dive and dream completely into the projected worlds has been the fascination of moving images ever since its invention.
The 180° cinema projects on a curved screen and puts its viewers in the middle of a new reality, creating an almost complete immersion in the cinematic space. The 360° spatial sound (Wave-Field-Synthesis) completes this impression.
The 47 Minute film, shot with a prototypical 5-lens 180° camera in 7k resolution and accompanied with the holophonic wave field synthesis sound method, is the result of a three-year interdisciplinary research project of the University of Film and Television HFF Konrad Wolf Potsdam Babelsberg in cooperation with the Heinrich Hertz Institute Berlin and the expertise Centre for Digital Media, University of Hasselt, Belgium.
The format Panorama - Film is experiencing a renaissance through the digitization. It fascinates us to try out new ways of telling a story in an immersive environment.
